This lovely plaque is made in the ancient Florentine tradition. Using European poplar wood, the artist decoupages the image, and then uses pure gold leaf to accent the work. The graceful plaque features Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, also known as Our Lady of Grace, as she distributes manifold graces to her children. The oval image is serenely but regally colored, varnished in ivory, and framed with an intricately carved rope border. Outside of the image, the plaque is gold leaf with acanthus detailing in the four corners. The edges are beveled with roped accents. The piece has a timeless appeal and elegant quality. Made in Italy.
